Brighton Marathon
Sunday 18th April 2010
I had been keeping myself fit, running with a couple of Guy’s I had met while coaching at a local football club. I am pleased to say, we have become good friends while training for the last year for this event.
It definitely helps running as a team because, you feel you have let the others down if you miss a run for whatever reason.
We were also keen to make ourselves a realistic target time for this event, which would give us a true reflection on all the hours of training we had put in.
Pete (Sally) Stevens, Mark (Gabri) Taylor and me, Dave (Brendon) Downes all completed the first Brighton Marathon in our target time of under 3 hours 30 minutes.
An achievement we were all proud to achieve.
We were so impressed with the organisation of this event that we were one of the first to enter next year’s race.
Total raised from this event: £1’210.00
Still Collecting...........

How it works?
The competition costs £10 to enter, of which £5 (50%) will go towards the cash prizes. The prize fund will be split from 1st to 5th. The remaining £5 balance will go into The Baby Harry Memorial Fund.
The winner of the 2008 Euro Finals competition won £1,392. The prize fund this year will be split as follows –
First prize = 60% of the prize money
Second prize = 20% of the prize money
Third prize = 10% of the prize money
Fourth prize = 5% of the prize money
Fifth prize = 4% of the prize money
The remaining 1% of the prize fund forms the booby prize for the person who achieves the lowest score!
How to enter?
All you need to do is complete the entry form, take a copy and return the entry form to the person who gave you the form or return the form directly to
David Downes,
9 McWilliam Road,
Woodingdean,
Brighton.
BN2 6BE.
Please make sure you enclose the £10 entry fee and clearly write your name, address and
telephone contact number on the entry sheet. Cheques should be made payable to Baby Harry
Memorial Fund. Completed sheets must be returned before the first game kicks-off (11 June).
We will of course return every form on the conclusion of the competition, indicating which position you finished in. We would appreciate if you would try and get as many of your friends and family involved in the competition as possible. The more people who enter, the higher the prize money and the more we can put into “Harry’s fund”.
